A few minutes ago, a round table on the theme 'Runet 2010: itogi goda" concluded in the Gosduma. Its objectives were not only to map the patterns and tendencies of internet use in 2010 but also share observations about what can be expected in 2011. You can read more about it here. There was an active twitter feed (thanks to @ekozlov, @inna_smbatyan and others) from the conference, which yielded the following facts.____in 2010, 46 500 000 users logged onto Runet at least once.40% of users log on at least once a month. 27% log on every day.59% of Petersburg's residents use the internet, and 58% of Moscow's.Yandex is the leading search engine in Russia (65.3%); followed by Google.There are currently 30 000 000 blogs in Russia, of which only 10% are active (updated at least once a month).Runet turnover is 150 000 000 rubles.9.3% of advertising revenues in Russia stem from the internet.Iakutiia is one of the most wired regions of Russia.Tver has 15% internet penetration.Russia has the highest number of internet users in Europe but has low internet penetration.8% of Runet users surf/log on via their mobile phones.20 000 000 users visit VKontakte every day. A year ago the figure was 10 000 000. The marked 2010 tendency : the user does not want to create content but wants to be there where content already has been created. in 2010, in Russia, the internet has become a force to reckon with.Costs of internet service will rise 40-70% next year.The question of the upcoming decade - the internet versus television, which will prevail?
