Doesn’t it sometimes look like the ubiquitous weblog killed them all: the ambitious hyperfiction projects, the clumsy hand-made homepages, the anarchic guest books? All gone out of fashion and having died an early death once the textual monoculture of the blog took over the worldwideweb? But some of the old flagships of early RuNet nevertheless still show signs of life! Thus, I was positively surprised to see that on Dejstvitel’nyj štatskij sonetnik, one of the collective literary games so popular in the mid-1990ies, activities have not come to an end. The last collectively written sonnet was finished just recently on April 2nd. But it’s fun as well to browse the archives of Sonetnik (containing about 3.600 poems) and to see what hot topics of the last decade of the 20th century have been ‘stuffed’ into the noble poetic form. There’s an opportunity to search the sonnets in the archive either by individual keywords or by predefined topical categories (classic, literary, philosophical, nonsense, mythological, just to name some). Only take a look at this chef d’oeuvre of computer lyrics that may remind us of the ancient Roman times of RuNet: No.727 (итальянский сонет) Мы КОИ-восемь будем проверять поскольку это очень интересно,  поскольку жить без КОИ-восемь пресно,  А умирать... Нам рано умирать!  В транслите, как в смирительной, нам тесно. Куда милей кириллицей писать: Мол, гой еси, славяне, исполать! Ведь мы народ словесный, как известно.  Вид буковиц родных меня пленит.  Даешь родную речь, долой транслит, Мы все ошибки выловим в программе!  А те из нас, кому милей иврит,    Пусть пишут для него программу сами,    Сплошными консонантными стихами  H.S.
